Fabricated Report — Familiar Author and Funny Creation time
As discussed before, experienced litigation lawyer always delete as many metadata as possible before submission of digital documents in order to avoid inadvertent exposure of “secrets.” In our case, again metadata of the supplementary report allegedly written by IDTM’s DCO Simoes (“Simoes Report”) are very revealing (see below).
First, the author. Metadata of the Simoes Report show that the author of the document was not Simoes, but Katarina Medveczky. So the Simoes Report, as serveral other reports submitted by IDTM, must have been created on a computer logged in with Medveczky’s account.
But the 2017 sample collection associated with the Simoes Report took place in China. Simoes, who was on a business trip, must have produced the report on his laptop. Then why did he log into Medveczky’s account to write the report on his own computer?
Next, the creation time. There is a printed date in the Simoes Report, indicating that the report was written on 1 November 2017 (see below).
But the metadata shows the document was created on 17 November 2018. Please note that the Simoes Report was submitted to FINA Doping Panel in its original WORD format, not converted into PDF format. So the recorded time was the real creation time, not the convertion time. Then why a report allegedly written and filed in 2017 was created one year later?
Therefore, metadata of the Simoes Report reveal that very likely the report was not written in 2017 by IDTM’s DCO Simoes.
